Kids LOOOOVE these wallets and parents tell me about how often their kids ask to read through them at home. I send home a new wallet with our new sight words each month, but you could send them more or less often, like weekly for spelling words or anything you think would be useful. You could use these for vocabulary, sight words, spelling, letter or # ID, ANY skill (which is why I’m also including a wallet with an editable cover and three different types of dollars in case you want to customize it in powerpoint and use it for something else).
Included in this file:
✅ Printable pages that comes in many different options... There are 2 cover styles and 3 dollar types... you choose the ones that makes the most sense for your class. You can print and go with these if you want to have kids write their own words on the dollars. You could give them a word list so they know what to include.
OR… you can type the words in for them by using the powerpoint version of this file (included in a separate file).
✅ An {optional} EDITABLE word list … if you have specific words you want kids to use, type them in and simply print. If you’d rather teach your students to just refer to a spelling list on the board or the word wall, you can totally skip creating the word list, but it’s here if you want it as an editable powerpoint file.
✅ 2 print and go direction sheets (for either way of using the wallets- writing their own words or simply cutting apart what you've already typed) with full color pictures and kid-friendly instructions so students can remember exactly what to do without having to ask you for help.
✅ A full color photo page that shows what a finished product might look like. I usually put this back to back with the direction sheet so kids have everything in one place.
✅ A full page of notes to the teacher with more instructions and ideas on how word wallets could be used.
✅ Labels you could print and stick onto bins or drawers.
